feeling your needs impedes him
his evenings, leads diseases

hardly; oddly enough, he bluffed
discreetly, you weakened
then jumped, in the deep end
believing he'd sweep in & catch you
look at you, then breathe in your lungs
to capture, your love
laughter is song, then swung, from the rafters
look at her, like hun, what have you become
so dumb; how come, she missed it
he hid it; dipped it in kisses
so when she listened
she only heard, his serenades, not the words
or the heartache, marching her way, like parades or a herd
he's rearranged her smile; it fades now
into a frown of concern
worn out his welcome, at every turn
taking one too many helpings, all unearned
cut your loses, you deserve awesome
how often does he have to be awful, for you to learn
