a glass of wine
i love you... that's how it starts
because of you, i'm a protector, deflecting
things that are hard; as per God
accepting my wings, that once were my arms
as i think like a groom, with a heart
that winks, then brings the moon, sun, & stars
setting the mood; pouring ink, in things, that are parched
my fetish, is to replenish the parts
that's empty; fill it, till it, spills over with plenty
He sent me, to be tempting, & satisfying
this vast mind, mask crying, & has time, to grasp vines
& haul ass climbing, to the top &
shake grapes down & stomp'em
then pour you a glass of wine
so you can unwind, & relax your mind, proper
she asked if i'm a doctor
i laughed, & said no i'm not, though
i am healer for real
making where ever your aching, feel
like what ever this world deals
you can take it, & shake it, & brush it off
bruises, wounds, abrasions, cuts & all
she applauded, like whatever i'm saying, touched her heart
all over like, i showed her life
then i showed, her life, when she closed her eyes
to see, how it would be
with someone not trying to compete, deflate or defeat
but complete, her family tree
& hold her tight, tight as a squeeze
minus the wheeze, add the elation
especially when adding me, to the equation
a glass of wine
